The Magic of the cliff-top walk at Varengeville
With the marvellous spring weather we had a wonderful walk with the dogs from L'église de Varengeville towards Pourville. The was the location for a number of paintings by Monet. The church is a beautiful building on the cliff-top and features in a number of paintings by the impressionists. The tomb of Georges Braque is in a prominent position in the churchyard a truly beautiful setting.
This is a familiar view of the church.
The site of the coastguard's hut, again the subject of some of Monet's paintings has been used for a modern installation echoing the earlier structure.
The woodlands are lush with flowers and vegetation after the wonderful weather we have had.
We descended the steep path to the gorge du petit Ailly
