Apple blossom time

We went to Jumièges on Monday on the banks of the Seine. This is a major fruit growing area and the fruit trees have suddenly burst into bloom. There are hectares of apple orchards but also  cherry & pear. The cherry blossom is almost over. The orchards around us should follow by next week.

April in Veules les Roses

Now the weather has become warmer, brighter and drier we can paint outside more easily. My watercolour class has been able to spend the afternoon enjoying the sunshine in this beautiful village. I have been venturing outside myself and here are a few examples of this work "sur motif"

Spring is here almost

We are waiting for the fruit orchards to blossom. The first should be in Jumièges by the Seine. Our pear tree is in blossom. Here is a fore runner - a painting of crab apple blossom. Oil on linen.

vertige

I have been working on this painting since before Christmas. I have been trying to combine multiple viewpoints to express the precipitous barrier between the sea and the land.
